What a great read; concise, yet thorough enough to make me feel really nostalgic and want to revisit so many completed games sitting on my shelves.
Oh man, I clearly remember May 18th, 2010! I worked an opening shift at Gamestop that day. I organized the drawers and wanted to buy Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, and Split/Second all at once. To this day, I still haven’t even played Alan Wake (but rest assured—it’s on my list of games to play), and I regret buying Blur over Split/Second because the online community never flourished like I had hoped it would.
Joystiq’s second half will definitely mention Limbo, as it was the anchor of this year’s Summer of Arcade and turned out to be one of the most well-received XBLA releases of the year. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood's unique multiplayer will probably receive a mention not only because of its unconventional take on online play, but also because Ubisoft hosted one of the most successful betas Xbox Live has ever seen. I'm guessing they're also going to mention a couple disappointingsequels that came out in the fall of 2010.
